The Great Leon: Vaudeville Headliner by Mike Caveney is the second in the series of Magic Pro-Files published by Mike Caveney’s Magical Publications (now Magic Words). It was released in a limited edition of 1000 and is now very collectible. The book tells the story of Leon Harry Levy, born on August 5, 1876 who grew up to become a famous illusionist on the vaudeville circuit, and during the summers, to state fairs, carnivals, etc. The book is a quick read and a lot of fun. These 132 pages convey the profession in magic in the early years of the 20th Century. The text is accompanied with a wonderful collection of photographs, and the frontpiece has a reproduction of a poster for the Fire and Water illusion tipped in. This book (only one available) is in mint condition.
