Resting on a table, the magician displays two tubes. The tubes are lifted. Under one tube is a glass and under the second tube is Martini bottle. The tubes are shown to be completely empty. The tubes are replaced, with one tube going back over the glass and the second tube back over the bottle.
 
The magician gives it a magic moment and when the tubes are lifted, the bottle and glass have changed places! This is repeated a couple more times, with the glass and bottle changing places back and forth. At this point, it really is a good trick!
 
However as the magician is apparently talking to the audience, the assistant or stooge creeps up and removes the bottle from one of the tubes. The magician is apparently unaware that the bottle has been stolen away. Amazingly the magician continues to perform the trick as before, leaving the assistant and the audience puzzled.
 
A great alternate comedy routine after the bottle has been stolen, the magician lifts the tube and shows the glass. Then as the magician realizes the bottle is gone from the second tube and thus appears puzzled, the magician is hesitant to lift the second tube. Pretending to bluff and stating, “Here’s the glass,” the audience laughs, knowing the magician is in “trouble.” A snap of the fingers however, and the magician is back in business, with the glass and bottle changing places as usual!
