The Dye Tube is the classic gimmick used by magicians to make a silk handkerchief change color. These tubes are ribbon type tubes. The cloth ribbon inside the tubes keeps the load of one color of handkerchief tucked into one end of the tube from interfering with or allowing the second handkerchief to pop out the other end of the tube prematurely.  Carefully handcrafted out of metal and painted flesh tone for disguise, Dye Tubes are now hard to obtain.
