The magician displays a card case and an envelope with a "prize" on it. He removes the cards from the case and spreads them out to show that each card has a string attached to it. He replaces the cards in the case, leaving the strings draped outside. He begins to talk about an old carnival game in which a player pulls a string and wins whatever prize is attached card. Offering the spectator a chance to play, a spectator selects a string and removes one card from the packet.
