This fun little effect has been in magic a long time, but it has also been long off the market! Now this classic is back again and made better than ever! The magician displays a small “clock-like” octangular sign that is about three inches in diameter. The sign has a "compass needle" (that does not move) printed on the plaque. The magician rotates the plaque to show that the needle points to the right on both sides. The plaque is rotated a third time, and the needle now points up! Rotated again, the plaque points to the left! Rotated again, the needle now points down! Finally the sign is rotated again and the needle is back pointing to the right on both sides! Audiences of course are stymied to figure out how the compass can only be two sided and yet point to so many directions! As noted above, the needle does not move separately from the sign!
