The magician shows his spectators a solid wooden ball, a clear plastic case, and two cords. With the cords threaded through a hole in the ball, the ball is placed inside of the case so that the cords protrude out the sides of the case. The magician then ties an overhand knot with one of the cords on each side of the box.  The spectator then watches as the cords visibly penetrate the ball and case!
