The magician displays three coins; a half dollar, a quarter, and an old Mexican centavo. He places the half dollar and centavo into a spectator’s hand and instructs him to put the coins behind his back with one coin in each hand. The magician places the quarter in his hand. The spectator is asked to use only his sense of touch and try and determine which of his hands has the half dollar. He does so and is then asked to place the half dollar on the table. The magician then shows that he no longer has the quarter, but instead holds the centavo! The spectator brings out what he has believed is the centavo and instead he now holds the quarter!
