This is an inexpensive Asian model of the classic silk hank reel. The reel was a patent of the famous Petrie-Lewis Magic Manufacturing Company in New Haven, Connecticut. Cord can be pulled out of this reel device and held extended by the brake mechanism. When the brake is released, the thread is pulled back inside. The reel can be used for an array of various effects such as the penetration of a handkerchief through a pole, broomstick, mic stand, or other upright. It can also be used as a "money snatcher" to whip a dollar bill off the floor! The reel comes complete with clips so it can be held hidden in the fingers without the use of the thumb.
