This is novelty card magic at its best. The magician tells the story of how someone was asked to “cut the cards.” Yep, that’s right, they did! A deck of cards is displayed and sure enough the cards have been cut in half diagonally. The magician can run through the cards. Except for the fact that the cards have been severed, the card’s faces and backs appear ordinary in every respect.
Two spectators are asked to assist. With the cards face down, one spectator chooses a card from one-half of the deck, and the card is placed face-down on the table. Likewise a second spectator chooses one card from the second half of the deck, and it is likewise placed face-down on the table. When the two half cards are turned face-up, the two halves match!
This is a great and easy-to-do trick by the late Bob Haskell, which was once distributed by the Merv Tayor company in Hollywood, California, and later by Haines House of Cards in Norwood, Ohio. These decks are made from modern day Bicycle Poker-sized playing cards and are professional in every respect. 005NUFRC00061
