Yep, that’s our good friend, fellow Texas magic dealer and magic manufacturer George Robinson of Viking-Haenchen wearing a strait jacket. Such jackets are used to restrain the criminally insane. That one is George’s.
Seriously, Houdini was the one who popularized the strait jacket escape, and magicians have followed suit ever since. The Viking model of a gimmicked strait jacket like George is wearing is a very realistic prop for magicians. While not a "real strait jacket" like the un-gimmicked Posey ones we have for sale in the Escape category of our website, this jacket is very realistic, examinable, and yet performers can escape with very little practice.
There are other gimmicked jackets on the market, mostly made in China, but the Viking jacket is very well-made. The jacket is made out of soft heavy cotton canvas with leather-like trim. The leather belting gives the jacket an air of authenticity, which makes the jacket escape challenge appear more formidable than it really is. This jacket packs small and plays big. Please note that we only have one jacket in stock, and it is the large 50-52” jacket size. Price includes shipping in the USA. 001HVVIKINGSTRAITJACKET
